Jeremiah K. Murphy - a biography
Jerry Murphy has been a Certified Public Accountant in California since 1976; before that he earned his initial certification in New Jersey.
Jerry graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD campus in 1968.
After college he worked in his father's CPA firm and then enlisted in the US Army where he served for three years in the Army's Military Intelligence branch. Jerry's job with the Army for those three years consisted of performing security investigations for the Army and then in doing technical electronic-sweeps of secure conference facilities and bases.
After the army, he and his bride, Lorraine, moved back to New Jersey and began working in his father's CPA firm again. This time he had client responsibilities including visiting the client business, financial statement preparation, tax compliance work and other direct client contact work.
Jerry passed the CPA exam and was certified by New Jersey in 1975. He moved to Fort Bragg, California in 1976 and has had his own business since then.
Jerry is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as of the California Society of CPAs.
